Belle Boutis
Tickets go on sale to members March 5. Non-members March 20.
Scout Lodge is across Bishop Lake Road from the Catholic Church of St. Ann's main parking lot.
At her Saturday workshop Audra will introduce us to Boutis, a French art form. Boutis is a Provençal word meaning 'stuffing', describing how two layers of fabric are sewn together with yarn or cording added in sections of the design, creating a raised effect. Some areas of your project will be ultra-stuffed showcasing the pattern while other areas will be quite flat. Audra says Boutis is both “addictive” and “just fun.”
In the first part of class, students will choose from several patterns to learn the boutis technique while making a small project that can be turned into an ornament or pin cushion. Students will then continue with a larger, more intricate pattern. Audra designed all of these elegant patterns new for us!

These colored worsted weight yarns were donated. They will be at the boutis workshop to share. The green and red seem perfect for holiday ornaments!
