Each year we dedicate our January meetings to celebrating the work of our Community Service partners and the amazing generosity of our Guild members in supporting our work for them. We'll have a special program that highlights the quilts, placemats, pillowcases, scent pads, bereavement diapers, flannel blankets, teddy bears, small pillowcases, and bead bags – all made with love by our members.
What Would Dolly Do?
Our January program highlights giving back to our guild and the greater community. The incomparable Dolly Parton was an extraordinarily generous woman. During this fun Dolly-themed meeting, we’ll learn about volunteerism, and we’ll work on the Evening Group's special project - "Quilts of Many Colors".
For this project, we will be sewing together blocks you have made at home to make donation quilts for our community partners. We’ll be assembling colorful quilt tops while listening to Dolly, eating Dolly refreshments, and dressing in whatever Dolly would approve of. To participate in this project, you can begin sewing strips from your scrap piles onto adding machine paper. The special paper will be available at the Evening Group meetings starting in September so you can start right away! Attend an Evening Group meeting for more detailed instructions or watch this YouTube video :

We hope to see many of you wearing Dolly's favorite pink, or perhaps some rhinestones or sequins, and don't forget those boots! So, in a world of Jolenes...be a Dolly!
