Making As Memoir

Note we are meeting one week earlier this month.

Fabric dyer, Malka Dubrawsky, adds intensity and luminosity to her projects through the use of both vibrant colors and more muted shades. Working with a concept she refers to as Simple Design, she focuses on exploring the many design possibilities of a single shape.

Malka says, "I've long wondered what draws us to make. It's not exactly essential to existence. Yet, surprisingly, that's not been my personal experience." In this lecture, Malka explores making as a link to her personal memoir, both the drive to create and the process she uses. Through images and words, she details how the subjects and processes we all use are intertwined with our unique-to-us stories.
