Coil & Create: Rope Bowl Making
Master the Art of Rope Bowls! This is a fun and easy project with professional results! Join Marie and Janet in learning how to create your own unique trinket bowl for your sewing room or to give as a gift. Learn to embellish your bowl with fabric strips or fussy cut pieces. Marie has made lots of these beauties. She will share her tips with you to make your own functional art!
Tickets go on sale to members May 5, 2025. Please bring any food or drinks you may need during the day. It is recommended that you bring your lunch in order to get the most of your time in the workshop. If you need glasses, please remember them.
You can unload close to the church's back door near the classroom, but avoid parking there unless you have a handicap hangtag. Due to space limitations at this venue, no extra tables such as sewing machine stands or ironing tables will be allowed.
Supply List
• Kit fee $10 payable to Marie at the workshop for rope.
• Sewing machine with an adjustable Zig-Zag that you know how to adjust.
• An Open Toe Foot is very helpful!
• Don’t forget your cords and pedal
• Jeans Needle
• White or off-white thread, 40 or 50 weight
• 4 full bobbins
• Optional: different color threads; Bobbin thread shows as outside of bowl
color and needle thread shows inside the bowl color
• Stiletto
• Seam ripper
• Scissors
• Small ruler, i.e. 6”
• A few pins and clips
• Glue Stick
• Optional: Some narrow strips of fabric to incorporate into your bowl.
